This is our specialist area of expertise having renovated some of the oldest sash windows in Ireland. We have worked closely with heritage professionals in the past to achieve the best results for period properties and listed buildings all over Ireland.

We liaise with conservation officers in local authorities and Grade 1 Conservation Architects to achieve the best possible outcome for listed buildings.

Your home may not be listed but we will treat it with the same care and attention that we give to protected buildings. This ensures the longevity of your windows whilst improving your insulation and the smooth operation of your windows.

Whenever possible, we always prefer to renovate the existing timber due to its quality, and generally can give a new lease of life to sash and casement windows, French windows and doors.

Our Renovation process takes care to conserve as much of the window and its glass as possible. This is an essential part of the conservation process as outlined by the Irish Georgian Society and Department of the Environment (www.environ.ie).

Sometimes it is impossible to save the window and it needs replacement.

Our Draught Sealing Renovation Service:

  • Removal of sashes
  • Replace old sash cord
  • Replace all beading
  • Fit draught excluders to all beading
  • Re-balance both sashes
  • Fit draught excluders to mid-rail
  • Prime all bare wood
  • Ensure all windows are opening and closing
  • Fit new brassware where necessary
  • Apply silicone seal around outside of window

Your windows will now open and close smoothly.

Extras:

  • New sills - we use only quality hardwood in our sill replacements
  • Box ends - we splice in new box ends where needed. We use high quality treated wood. We then paint this with white primer.
  • Replace sideboards, front boards and centre mullions. Again we use high quality treated wood. Primed.
  • New pulleys, catches and sash lifts
  • If you have children in the home we can fit restrictor locks to all windows
  • We can replace liners, jambs and pulley stiles.
  • Paint finish.
